Role overview
CAST AI is looking for a dynamic Director of Product Marketing to spearhead our product marketing efforts. The ideal candidate brings technical expertise in Kubernetes and cloud developer products with experience launching net new products to the market. You will partner closely with product, marketing, and sales to align on the right messaging, sales plays, and product features to drive market capture and adoption. As a key player in our marketing team, you will lead the development and implementation of marketing strategies that resonate with our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), effectively positioning our Kubernetes and cloud automation solutions in the marketplace. This role is a unique blend of tactical execution and strategic planning, offering the opportunity to grow into a senior leadership position as you demonstrate leadership skills and drive impactful results.
The Impact and Responsibilities
- Product Positioning & Messaging: develop and continuously evolve positioning of products and iterate platform messaging as CAST AI matures in the market.
- Sales Plays: build sales plays positioned to drive pipeline and revenue based on key use cases identified through collaboration with the sales team.
- Content Creation: Create content for use across Marketing and Sales for target personas, using your domain knowledge and technical expertise.
- Sales Enablement: Build and maintain content to educate the field sales team on business values of product capabilities, including technical objection handling.
- Market Intelligence: Maintain expertise on our buyers through regular customer interviews and market research to drive a data-backed understanding of how they buy and their buying criteria. You will understand the market landscape and how to competitively position the platform, including iterations over time based on current market conditions. You will serve as the voice of the customer to internal teams to ensure consistent customer challenges are addressed within product roadmaps.
- Cross-team Collaboration: Work with Sales Engineering, Marketing, and Product to drive prioritization of top use cases, messaging, and content creation.
- Pricing & Packaging: Lead pricing strategy, including packaging, price point, and bundling across products to drive adoption and revenue. Create data driven recommendations on pricing changes to achieve sales lift.
- Performance Tracking and Reporting: develop Product Marketing OKRs and own metrics reporting on PMM performance across products, segments, and verticals in relation to pipeline and revenue.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, cross-functional teams, vendors, and partners. Represent the CMO in meetings, conferences, and other relevant forums as required.
Experience
- The ideal candidate has both hands-on experience and a tenured leadership foundation in the following areas: cloud infrastructure messaging & positioning, pricing & packaging research and development within the B2B DevOps software space, balancing of product innovation and customer expressed product needs, and measuring success through performance metrics of product marketing.
- 10+ years of experience with the technical product marketing function at a high-growth B2B technology company
- Technical background (incl. Kubernetes knowledge) is a must, as well as an understanding of marketing principles and methodologies working in dynamic Cloud or SaaS organizations.
- Proven track record of driving operational efficiency and process improvement within a marketing organization
- Strategic planning and project management skills, with experience achieving quantifiable results
- Excellent communicator in written and verbal form; ability to work well with executives, and able to lead, facilitate, and influence across multiple levels and multiple functions of an organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
